How does it work?
You deliver your gently used toys to one of our collection sites around the city between now and the end of their specific drop off dates. Those in need can signup for a distribution box beginning on November 16, 2020. Distributions will take place on Friday, December 11th and Saturday, December 12th 2020.
Can my home or business volunteer to be a collection site?
Yes! We’d love that. We just ask that you arrange to bring your “stash” of toys to us at our David L. Lawrence Convention Center location between December 7th and December 9th, 2020. Click here for more information on collecting.
What do you take?
We will accept new or gently used items for children ages 0 – 12. This includes; toys, games, bikes, movies (dvd only), electronics and sports equipment. At this time we are not accepting books, clothes or stuffed animals. We are also accepting ziploc bags (especially large sizes) for organizing toys with pieces or dividing large amounts into multiple sets as well as kitchen sized garbage bags, large black garbage bags, boxes and packing tape.
Please remember to organize and bag your toys together so they are ready to go and the pieces don’t get separated. Try to give us complete sets and toys in good condition so they’re ready to go to a new home. Get all the details here.
Are my donations tax deductible?
Yes! Play it Forward Pittsburgh is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
How can I volunteer?
We can’t do this without you! We will need assistance sorting, organizing and distributing at our David L. Lawrence Convention Center location between December 7th and December 12th, 2020. Click here for more information on volunteering.
What if I don’t have toys but want to donate or want to contribute extra?
We need monetary donations via our Paypal account or shop from our Amazon Wish list to help buy supplies, insurance, food for volunteers, etc.
